Add to that the one staff AoW we have (Spinning Weapon) is supposed to be for exactly this but it barely works at all (too slow to activate, weak damage, not the easiest thing to properly aim, leaves you wide open for several frames between the spin finishing and the animation-lock ending), and IMO there's a good case for this being added as an AoW for staffs. AoW on the staff = R1 is caster mode, L2 is melee mode. If you have a lot of spells equipped (which, if you're a mage, you usually will), that ring HUD is more of a pain than it's worth in the heat of battle. The worst thing about this spell is FromSoftware's continuing obsession with their item rings, which really hampers the use of this on mage builds - you're firing away, something gets up close to you, you then have to whirl the ring around to Carian Slicer to switch to melee mode, and then back again once the thing in question either backs off or dies. Needs to be made into an AoW that you can put on staffs. Note: As of Patch 1.08, the power of this sorcery has been reduced only on PVP.
